  • Tendency to obesity because they convert calories to fat.

  • Slow digestion, mild hunger. Tendency to over sleep.

  • Steady energy, slow and graceful in action.

  • Good retentive memory.

  • Affectionate, tolerant, forgiving, but possessive.

  • Calm, smooth, thick, pale skin, often oily.

  • Procrastination.

  • Take long time to arrive at a decision.

  • Be happy to maintain the status quo.

The basic nature of Kapha type is to be slow and relaxed.

Characteristics of two dosha types
The characteristics will be a mixture of the traits of the two prominent doshas.

Characteristics of three dosha types
These types are rare. They have a good start in life as they have the best chance to remain in balance, but when they go out of balance then it becomes difficult to bring all three of them in line.

Dosha Imbalances

The dosha most likely to go out of balance is the one that dominates the body type. Therefore, vata should be careful of aggravating their vata; pitta, their pitta and so on. If you are a two-dosha type, both doshas are possible candidates to create problems. However, in everyone the most active dosha is always vata. It leads to the majority of short-term problems, particularly if they are stress-related.

Vata Imbalance

Mental indications
Worry, anxiety, impatience, overactive mind. Loss of mental focus, forgetfulness, depression, psychosis etc.

Behavioral indications
Insomnia, fatigue, inability to relax, restlessness, low appetite, impulsiveness etc.

Physical indications
Constipation, intestinal gas, flatulence, dry or rough skin, low stamina, loss of energy, high B.P., lower back pain, menstrual cramps, irritable bowel syndrome, intolerance to cold or wind, aching joints, weight loss, muscle spasms, seizures, headache etc.

Causes
You may have been under stress recently or reacted to it with anxiety. You have undergone a period of mental strain and overwork. You are in the advanced stages of alcohol or drug addiction or chain-smoking. Your diet includes too much cold, raw or dry foods. You habitually
