| This potent brew is for all mucousy ailments like colds, flu, throat infections, nasal congestion. First thing in the morning, before drinking or eating anything else, and / or last thing at night, are the most beneficial times, although, if stricken in bed, 3 - 4 doses a day will help more. Ingredients should be whole and as fresh as possible. | | Ingredients 1 tsp ginger, finely chopped 1 tsp garlic, finely chopped ½ tsp fresh black pepper honey (optional) 1 whole birds eye or ¼ tsp of flaked or crushed chilli honey (optional) lemon juice (optional) | | Method Crush spices, chop ginger & garlic finely. Boil in 1 litre of water for 10 - 15 mins with the LID ON. Strain finely. Taste for potency and (if needed) dilute with hot water until as pungent as you can stand. Add honey and lemon if desired. Sip steaming hot. Should heat (but not burn) the tongue, throat, gullet and belly. Fine for children diluted or sweetened as preferred. |
