Ayurvedic Rejuvenation
Ayurvedic rejuvenatives (rasayanas) bring renewal and longevity to the cells. They bring strength, vitality, longevity and immunity. For a vata individual an excellent tonic is herb ‘Ashwagandha'. Take one teaspoon of ashwagandha in a cup of hot milk twice a day , morning and evening. For pittas the best tonic is ‘Shatavari'. Take one teaspoon twice a day in a cup of hot milk. Kaphas can take ‘Punarnava'. One teaspoon twice a day in a cup of warm water.

Ayurvedic Treatment

Acne
It is due to high pitta moving under the skin and breaking out as pimples. Follow pitta pacifying diet. Practice chandra bhedana pranayama for 10 minutes. Rub the palms vigorously then gently touch the middle of the palm to the eyelashes. Our eye lashes are intensely electrically charged. They take that warmth and relieve the pitta under the skin.

Addictions
Panchakarma is very good to remove addictions. For alcohol addictions a bitter wine made of loe vera juice or kumari asava can be used. In place of hard liquor the person can take small amounts of this wine. Take 4 teaspoons diluted with equal amount of water. For nicotine toxicity do nasya with ghee.

Anger and Hostility
Anger and hostility are signs of aggravated pitta in the nervous system. Follow a pitta pacifying diet. Oil massage is good. Rub some bhringaraj oil or coconut oil on the top of the head and the soles of the feet. This reduces the excess pitta. Do this in the morning and before going to bed. Do nasya with plain ghee or brahmi ghee. This sends a calming message to the brain. Perform Sheetali pranayama for 10 minutes morning and evening. Avoid all inverted postures like headstand ,shoulderstand and plow.

Low appetite
It may be because of slow metabolism which is because of low jatharagni, low digestive fire,
or emotional factors. Low agni creates indigestion, bloating, coating on the tongue and bad breath. It is often due to continual munching and drinking cold drinks. Give up the two bad habits. Take fresh ginger, chop it into small pieces add a little lime juice and a pinch of rock salt and chew it up. Take one teaspoon of triphala, boil it in a cup of water for 5 minutes, cool it and drink.

Asthma
Bronchial asthma is characterized by sudden attacks of short gasping breaths accompanied by wheezing. The underlying cause is increased kapha dosha in the stomach. From there it moves into the lungs, trachea and bronchi. The increased kapha blocks the natural flow of air resulting in asthma.
