Narada Bhakti Sutras

(Narada's Aphorisms on Devotion) Sutra 3

Bhakti and Immortality

Amrtasvarupa ca - Bhakti is immortal too.

He who sees Self in all and all in Self never hates' says Sukla Yajur Veda.

Yastu sarvani bhutani atmanyevanupasyati; Sarvabhutesu catmanam tato na vijugupsate.

Love flows to that object which recognizes it as related to Self. If the whole Universe and is seen as Self, Love never perishes.

Love towards any object is mortal. Love towards any object remains till the object remains as an impression. Love towards the Self is immortal because it remains always as Self. Therefore Pure Love is as immortal as the Self itself.

To love all the beings is the very nature of the seers. Their love goes beyond all the castes, creeds, religions and races as they see Self in all. Rama's love is not only to the subjects of Kosala kingdom, but also to the vultures, hunters, Vanaras and even Raksasas. Rama loves even his enemy as he proclaims that he is ready to accept even his enemy:…

Rama killed Ravana not because of the hatred towards him, but to eliminate the evil or Adharma. That is why Vibhisana to perform funeral rites to Ravana ordered. Rama says to Vibhisana, "Ravana is a brother to me as also to you"………Thus Rama's Love is immortal.
