A Dissertation Submitted by N. Lalitha
Under the guidance of Prof. N.V.C. Swamy & Dr. H.R. Nagendra

Abstract: An experimental study was undertaken to investigate the effect of mantras on the chemical composition of sacrificial wood ash. The experiments were conducted with four identical rooms with three rooms for sacrifice with mantras and one for sacrifice without mantra. The last room served as control.

The results show that the sacrificial ash falls under the category of Bulky Organic Manure and is beneficial to the soil. There is an indication that the mantra influences the chemical composition of the ash, but this needs substantiation by more data.

Summary & Conclusion: The major conclusion arising from the study is that wood ash belongs to the category of Bulky Organic Manure and is beneficial to health of the soil. More investigations are needed to quantify the effect of the mantra on the composition of the nutrients. This study gives a hint that this effect may exist. Future studies are likely to substantiate this.
